The movement is metrosexuality, the word is metrosexual.
Metrosexuality is a neologism generally applied to heterosexual men with a strong concern for their appearance, or whose lifestyle display attributed stereotypically seen among gay men.
In simplicity a metrosexual man is usually the single young man with a high disposable income, living or working in a suburb or city and is perhaps the most promising consumer market of our generation. In the 80s it was said that these individuals were only found in fashion magazines such as Vogue and GQ or in television commercials for Levis and Guess Jeans. In the nineties they were everywhere, even taking over shopping malls and sports fields.
I strongly believe that every male figure walking this planet has trace of metrosexuality in them because we all seem to put a big effort in everything we do, whether its buying a new suit for an interview or wearing an expensive fragrance for that first date. Metrosexuality is very much an act of good impression but how far you take it is entirely up to you.
