As rising demand continues to increase, how will the world cope with sustained high oil prices? Luke Chp.21:22- For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.+++ Update: 11/13/2008- Even if the price of a barrel of oil gets too low, like it is now,( below $60 a barrel,)then it could start costing more for some nations to produce than it can be sold for, either way, too high or too low, "Peak-Oil" still is happening. It does not matter so much as to how you get there, just as long as you get there! Remember, in the end you couldn't even buy or sell. Fossil-Fuels are hurting the planet Earth and they must be done away with a.s.a.p., it must come to pass, it's part of the evolution of mankind!

Oh, but america does the same. Every country publishes WAYYY to high numbers about their reserves of oil, for economical, political and national security reasons... It's only because oil company's now see, that the last few years, production can't keep up with the dramatically increasing demand anymore, that it internationally becomes more clear now, the boundaries are reached...

cretin69: You shouldn't take the claims for serious that water could propel cars. There is "plenty" of oil? "Plenty" means noting. The world today needs 160.000 liters crude per second increasing by roughly 3.5% each year. That means in 25 years, there will be a demand of 300 tons per second. This oil is simply not existing. Oil from tar sand is a drop in a bucket. Make sure you consider time and growth when talking about energy supplies.
