  • Ok, for all you idiotic teenage girls saying "I can relate to this girl because she seems lonely and I'm lonely/really went through a breakup" or she reminds you of your friend who's in a similar situation or whatever, this song is about a girl who was MOLESTED. AND NOBODY DID ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I'm not trying to sound insensitive to the people who actually can relate to that, but it seems like a lot of people just think she's lonely or went through some petty teenage breakup.

  • @ivnhdz Firstly, the band wouldnt put a girl getting raped in their music video, because that's just sick. Second, 'Though the marks on your dress have been neatly repressed' shows that she has been abused probably sexually, plus Kristy left Dexter her diary in real life which said about all the abuse she was getting at home, some of the pages of the diary in the music video are the actual pages of Kristys diary in real life.

  • @ReaperOfPears Thats harsh and idiotic to say. Music is meant to be experienced personally. Everybody can interpret this song how they personally feel. For the song writer a song means something but for somebody else it might have different meaning.

Don't judge people for relating to this song. We don't feel ourselves better if we know that somebody else has more difficult life than ours. Break up can be tough and it doesn't help if somebody else got raped. It still can feel bad

  • DONT WAISTE YOURE WHOLE LIFE TRYING TO GET BACK WHAT WAS TAKEN AWAY

  • @ReaperOfPears ahhhhh ok but everyone have a different meaning for eatch song

  • @ExTrEmEStOrW From Wikipedia: "The song was written about a girl that singer Dexter Holland knew as a kid. She was sexually abused, and everybody in the neighborhood (including Dexter himself) knew about it, but nobody did anything about it. Holland wrote the song as an apology to the girl."

  • @ReaperOfPears for me personaly i think that, she was trying to be who she wants to be but others didnt let her so she got miserable

  • Call the police?

  • When you loose your innocence that way ; You always try to figure out a way to go back. You try your hardest to get back who you use to be. Recapture the happiness. But you can't. All you can do is move forward. You never forget and I don't think you ever stop trying. I havnt'. It's like it's so close but yet so far away. You think if you find a way to get it back everything will be okay. It'll be like it never happen. But it's impossible. . . It eats you alive. You blame yourself.
