~ Lyrics ~

Savannah woman dressed in white,
Stands out of tropical rains.
She pulls her gin and tonics tight,
And curses her lonely domain.
Brazilian winds blow warm in Rio,
A white estate they call 'The Nada'.
Meant for her soul or so she says,
Hides her sadist gin made eyes.

No one knows but me how she left me so behind.
Savannah woman I could never leave you so unkind.

Snow white and with desire, that vamp from the magazine.
Cold and distant as the moon, why can't she burn like fire?

  • hi died to young... i just liked tommy bolin 1951-1976

  • if Deep Purple played in Tommy's Strength mark 4 would last longer, make more jazzy song like this, rather than trying to be a black funk band, and if Coverdale would sing properly, and use his strength which is Bluesy kind of voice not high notes like Gillan

  • one of my all-time favorite tunes and one of the best guitar soli ever played by anyone!

  • パープル活動時の会心ソロ作、ジャンルをこえた名手だった、トミー・ボーリン、アルバム"ティーザー"からジャジー・ボッサ・ロック"サバンナ・ウーマン"

  • Tommy.. was a great feeling player:) and what a lovely guitar solo:)

  • Tommy.. was a great feeling player:)

  • Savannah Woman is my most favorite Tommy Bolin song, it also features Prairie Prince (from The Tubes/ Todd Rundgren/et al) on drums, I fucking love this song.
