Song: "Carnival of Rust" by Poets of the Fall
Footage: Doctor Who (series 1-4) & Torchwood (1, 2, and CoE)
Spoilers: End of Time and Children of Earth
Pairings: Jack/Rose, Jack/Gwen, Jack/Ianto, Jack/Nine, Jack/Ten
Edited with: Final Cut Pro

This is....one of my few videos that kind of tells a story? It's basically about Jack's run through DW and TW. The first part of the song is about him meeting and falling for Rose and her and the Doctor changing him for the better, then that little instrumental break is Rose making him immortal, then it's him starting anew in Torchwood and falling for Gwen and Ianto, then the last bit shows his real love - the Doctor (Nine and then Ten). FFFF IT'S RIDICULOUS I KNOW.

This song is awesome, though. Admit it. It's catchy. Plus most of my OTPs are in it. You know you ship Jack/entire Whoverse. Don't even deny it.

  • @jarabaa 'Miracle Day' (the newest season of Torchwood) made it very clear that Jack had other loves. Ianto mattered, but he's not the be all end all.

  • @jarabaa Oh he was a big part of Jack's life! However, his overarching story (Jack's, I mean) he's had a lot of loves in his life. His main love being for the Doctor. He was also in love with Rose Tyler, and the love he shared with Gwen Cooper was always present throughout all of Torchwood. He had a physical romantic relationship with Ianto, but in the long run he's not Jack's main love. (Contrary to what fangirls would like folks to believe XD)

  • I am one of the few who doesn't really know Dr Who or Torchwood, i.e.haven't watched either, yet heard a lot. I got the idea that there was an important relationship between John Barrowman's character, Jack, and another man, namely Ianto. In Cardiff I saw a wall of testimonials dedicated to the memory of the character Ianto. Or ... am I mistaken? I get the impression from this video that Jack in fact had lots of girlfriends, and Ianto was a blip, an episode. Is that so? Where did he fit in?

  • That's an amazing video and shows Jack's tragic life just perfectly. And the song is so hautingly beautiful. Have never heard it before. Thanks for that!

  • That was truly amazing i love it.

  • Jack/Entire Whoverse is totally canon, too. Very nice video! My only critique would be that the scenes with Ianto seemed rushed compared to the scenes showed with Rose and Gwen, though I liked the overlay effect.
