My family finally made the trip out to Joseph and Wallowa Lake otherwise known as Oregon's Swiss Alps (approx. 7 hours east from Bend). It was beyond incredible! Where else can you hand-feed wildlife (deer and chipmunks), walk to a knee high creek and see kokanee salmon spawning and ride a 15 minute gondola tramway 3,700' straight up a mountain all in the same day! We were there 4 days and it wasn't enough! The 3rd annual Bronze Biker Rally was going on the same weekend which made the town really come to life. Everyone we met greeted us with a smile there. Thanks for the great times guys! We'll be back soon!

  • Nice video. I would caution you, however, not to let your young ones have hand contact with the wild animals. They may carry diseases. Rodents, like chipmunks, squirrels, etc., may be rabid. The deer can be unpredictable as well as have ticks that carry Lyme disease. It's not advisable to feed wild animals. They should be fending for themselves on nature's diet.

  • Ha ha, funny video! Good job making it. We may head up there. Thanks for sharing.

  • I hope to be here....someday. I am impressed about the cleaning of the streets, and a preety sightseeign. About the music is just coiuntry or you have the rest styles. Sorry

  • i have a cabin on the lake.

  • I am really glad you guys had fun in my home county:) I hike all over by the lakes and mountains please come back soon!!!:) the local ranchers and buisnesses appreciate it!

  • Cool vid!!!

  • I went there for vacation this summer, it was not as fun as i thought it would be but it was alright. My favorite part was the tram ride when we got up to the mountains we bought some animal food and fed the chipmunks and ground squirrels from our hands

  • Great! My husband and I are going Labor Day week. The last time we were there our two kids were about the age of yours, now they don't live at home anymore. We plan on taking our 5th wheel this time instead of a tent like we did so many years ago! I remember the loud thunder that scared poor Sarah to death so she jumped into our sleeping bag. I enjoyed your video, it brought back memories.
