  • @ThePSM97 Nothing like having a self admitted college druggie running the teachers union...........that's right, this is Chicago in the great state of ILLinOIS

  • I hear this and for the first time in 20 plus years of being a professional educator, I am EMBARRASSED to call myself a teacher. With fools like Karen Lewis, public education will implode on itself. Her idiocy and radicalism is NOT what I signed up for when I chose to pursue the profession. The quicker she goes away, the better off the business of REAL public education would be.

  • Jackie Vaughn wore a fur coat on the picket line. She was the best union president we ever had. She was professional and well dressed at all times. Also, she was a lady that made the African American community proud. Karen your rudeness and meanness has been exposed. I know you personally and I am so happy that you are displaying the lack of character that

you have demonstrated here today and everyday that I have known you. Tell us about about Senate Bill 7 how U soldout district 299 teachers.

  • @hwilliamc I agrree

  • go to thepetitionsite type adhd in search the petition is about nine links down "Schools ! adopt 'ADHD' training etc "...

  • If you're a teacher who's helping special needs student or a concerned parent

    sign this petition

  • @hiscifiguy: She does engage in the same sort of personal attacks that have been made against her--a tactic that might be appropriate for a bare knuckled comic routine but not a speech at a professional conference. But there is a point to her rhetoric: namely, to underline the emotional urgency of her message, which is supported by the (non-rhetorical) content of her message. People like Arne Duncan deserve our righteous rage.

  • I'm glad I watched the whole video. The media would have you think there was no substance to her speech. For those who think otherwise, that's your opinion. I relate to her speech and found her to be encouraging.

  • How did Jabba the hut's wife get this job? LOL!!! I wonder how much money she makes? Hopefully not that much! It baffles me how these teachers feel that their jobs are somehow more important than the entire private sector. We need to get rid of the the Dept. of Education. I had plenty of teachers growing up that just punched the clock and skated through the day. Those same teachers never were fired, but always got raises.

  • what are you talking about people calling her fat? i only see your comment brooklyn

  • Like most she's fear's new thing's. Want's politician's to do her bidding. Yet in the same breath realize's that they can buy her power and sell it to any given day.
