I have a "Young and Restless" soundtrack album from 1974. It has the vocals track along with "character themes' for many of the characters back then,

Awesome! I remember they typically used this lyrical version for the Friday endings, as they were the ones that tended to have the most extra time left at the end of the episode. Thank You for posting this!!

@tyrese3745 That was hot!!!

No, the Y&R of today is frightening!!!! The so-called writers have done a grave disservice to the Bil Bell's legacy. The show has gone to shits.

The "CBS Recorded at Television City, Hollywood, CA" card. So vintage and so classic. Aaaah...
:)

@RCS0388, I agree, the theme sounds great with the lyrics.

Stay tuned for "Search for Tomorrow", next over most of these CBS stations.

THIS HAD WORDS??? Learn something new every day, I swear...

For their 40th anniversary, they should bring back the lyrics for the closing
Was there no executive producer of Y&R at this time?

@HunterWrangler Yes, the executive producer was John Conboy, but he was not credited in every episode. If this had been an episode with a full cast or production crawl, he would have been credited.

were the vocals already there, or did you add them?

@barbidoll0 This is exactly as it aired. I did not add the vocals. In the mid-70's for a brief period, the song was played over the end credits once a week.

Anyone want to make a go at naming this end montage of characters? I always wanted to know who the girl at the top is in particular...

Peggy, the girl at the top is Pamela Solow-Peters (your namesake Peggy Brooks). The person to her left is Jim Houghton as Greg Foster. The woman next to him is Julianna McCarthy (LIz Foster). The fellow in the direct middle is Tom Hallick (Dr. Brad Eliot). The two below him are Dorothy Green and Bob Colbert as Jennifer and Stuart Brooks. The last three, clockwise from the left are William Grey Espy as Snapper Foster, Brenda Dickson as Jill Foster, and Trish Stewart as Chris Brooks.
