What nonsense!! - not once was this explained to the electorate - where is the evidence to back your theory up??....in fact...when this has been suggested every successive government has always denied it. We voted in the 70's for the Common Market.....AND NOTHING ELSE!!! Er...You joined the European Community (EC). The EC was primarily formed of economic agreements, true, but nobody had ever hidden that the main objective was to strengthen political cooperation. As a matter of fact, the EC was created after Schuman's Declaration, that stated that international cooperation among european states was needed to have peace in the continent. I'm really sorry that British people never got this, but it was pretty obvious, so you are NOT justified.

We DIDN'T join the EU....we joined the Common Market!!! The Common Market was a trade area set up for ...well...er....trade i think!!!!! Now it has morphed into something very different. If we had known we were on our way to be a part of the European Union of Soviet Socialists Republics we wouldn't have joined...would we!!!! So, excuse us in the UK if we seem a tad annoyed by the gross deceit of the EU elite - but we are totally justified ....now go and kiss your own ass!!!!

A substantial, archaic few in the UK "can't understand" that EU is a necessity not a luxury that we can just walk away from. Globalised trade and the presence of ever increasing powerful global players means that we will not be able to protect our interest as well as we have in the past. Nigel Farage, despite his obvious charisma, he is just simply mistaken. Behind his seemingly precise but always incomplete arguments really lies a sort of nostalgia about good old days, which is not realistic.
