I have been playing bass for a little over a year. Improv in D pentatonic. Lots of mistakes, but it is improvisation after all.

  • i don't think someone who has been playing for a little over a year should jump straight to something like a musicman

but that is just my opinion not tryin to flame you because that sounded great

keep practicing nd if u kan get that good in a year in like 7 years you will be flea

  • if you know you're going to stick with it, why not?

  • U are damm good! Great sound! But close your f**kin kip like a bulldog chewing a wasp ;)

    Greetings from Poland.

  • Can't help the mouth thing. My lower lip is too damn big to really be able to help it.

  • nice!

how do you know what notes are in d pent. without hitting wrong notes?

  • there are actually some intentional notes that are not in the d pentatonic scale.

After a while, if you keep practicing improvisation in a certain scale, you just start doing certain patterns and get good at it.

there are actually a lot of mistakes in this video especially in regards to timing.

  • that's called "the face", alot of great musicians do that. as long as you groove you can look like a clown!

  • Flea bass?

  • how do you come up with bass lines?

  • =O

  • At 0:39 you can hear like someone opening a coke.

  • Excuse me, I just started learning theory alone, does D in pentatonic mean that the root is D? and does it HAVE to go up and down? can't it go sideways? thanks.

  • @goddamfuckingcats why not? :) i bought 6 string after 1 year of playing :) trb 1006 yamaha :)

  • it doesnt matter wat kinda bass u got. It sounds great dude keep it up!

  • all i would say is try and work on your right hand technique when plucking, you play like a guitarist would when they pick up a bass. but apart from that you've got some decent groove for someone who's been playing for such a short time

  • Loving the slap part at the end. No but seriously... nice skills dude, sounded great.

  • what the F*ck... please practice before you upload your video.
