Due to a rather christmasy mood caused by the early cool weather, I decided to dust off this old Christmas Carol in Latin I composed a few years ago, when I was first experimenting with composition (both musical and Latin). I think this was my first vocal piece, and also the first piece of poetry in a foriegn language. Not all that ambitious, but a lot of fun to write and record.
Here's the lyrics, if you feel like singing along:
Cantemus laete, cantemus laete!
Christus venit, salus mundi, Cantemus laete!
Omnes homines, sonitum et claram musicam facite,
Cantemus laete! Cantemus laete
Cantemus laete, cantemus laete!
Christus venit, salus mundi, cantemus laete!
Veni, veni, venite!
Voce et cantu musicam facite,
Cantemus laete!
Cantemus laete, cantemus laete!
Christus venit, salus mundi, cantemus laete!
Ad eum laudem esset et ei gaudio laudate-
cantemus laete!
Cantemus laete, cantemus laete!
Christus venit, salus mundi, cantemus laete!
