Im almost positive Steve didnt create Pixar. Im pretty sure he bought it out before going back to apple (Still CEO of NeXT) and then Apple bought NeXT and Jobs went back, making Pixar and Apple partnering companies. I may be wrong though.

They didn't have to pay much for it. Steve Jobs started Apple and Pixar. Pixar uses Macs to make everything, anyway. I'm sure all Apple had to do was ask.
