I didn't understand why it was such a big deal that your breeders are tame. That is, until my 2 lovebirds started mating and then I gave them a nest box. They are like Jekyll and Hyde! They have gotten very protective, and not so nice... I think if their eggs hatch and they have babies this will be the only time! I dont like them acting that way! So for anyone who thinks "whats so great about that?" Trust me, it is a huge deal that these breeders are so tame!

@FEARfromGOD will teach the bird that it can get your hand to do what it wants by nipping. So, when it bites you, don't move. Instead, look your bird in the eye and say very clearly, "NO." If the bird continues to bite, put it back in the cage and turn your back on it for, say, 10 minutes. Try again. Be patient. This will take some time, but the bird will understand that 1) nipping will not cause your hand to move away, and 2) nipping results in a -SMALL- chastisement (NEVER punish the bird).

@FEARfromGOD Well, if he is on your shoulder, he will naturally nip at your ears and neck and even hair. (Another thing to note is that you should never let the bird perch on your shoulder until the bird is FULLY tame and used to you, otherwise behavioral problems could develop. This may be attributing to your problem, so find out some information about this.) Another thing you can do is stop natural reactions to the bird nipping you. If you, every time he bites at your hand, move away, this
