NEW SONG Gratitude (acoustic)

Hes on his way to a new church that he finally found somewhere downtown. I swear its gotta have the answers now for why my life has turned upside down.
Another day that the alcohol he holds (is) his only friend. Just one more gulp to numb life down but still the ache wont go away.

If the world was up to him hed turn it back. Ask it to make up for all the things he lacks. But would he see then that theres nothing that he needs (that) he doesnt have and keep it running? Would he keep it turning just the way it has?

Shes far away as shes squinting in the mirror blurring the features of her face. I used to be so much prettier. And maybe thats why hes gone away.
No words to say for the person whos been listening to her cry except I promise things will turn around maybe tomorrow, for sure one day.

If the world was in my hands Id hand it back. And learn to trust in life to give us what we lack. Id learn to feel a gratitude for even that which I dont have and keep it running. I would keep it turning just the way it has.
