  • I been watching all your videos the last 2 hours. I am scheduled for a gastric on March 1st and I have diabetes, high cholestrol, copd, asthma, diabetic nueropathy so I do not walk very well but I can walk a little, ddd and spinal stenois. if I do not get my weight off , it will kill me. I like how positive you are. I know my risks and I am willingly to risk them to have a chance at walking and living again. I have battled my whole live with weight and you are inspiration.

  • I am so glad you made the decision to be healthy, and yes this is a decision. Many will judge you but you only have yourself to blame or entrust your health to. I am happy, healthy and active. It is worth it

  • hey amelia!!! i have a question for Dr. Suber. i know this sounds reeeeally weird, but is it a possibility that the stitched up skin might.... you know.... tear?

  • You need to reply to his comment for him to see it, but i am not stitched up I was glued together.

  • Hey, are you going to show us a shot of how your belly is healing? It must feel really great to buy cute clothes and have so many more options. I can't wait to be out of the Plus sizes.

  • Wound healing problems can happen. They're generally higher in the massive weight loss patient, and higher in patients who have diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc...things that affect blood flow. A plastic surgeon experienced in this surgery knows how to minimize (but not negate) the risks. This is a very rare event in my hands. Scar & healing outcome = surgeon's skill w/ the closure + the patient's inherited wound healing traits.
