What in the world is with these conductors speeding this piece up to such a ridiculous tempo?

The tempo of "Surely, He Has Borne our Griefs" is definitely faster than any previous live performance of this selection that I've ever sung, directed or enjoyed as an audience member.
They did slow down to just "fast" with good emphasis in the portion, "He was bruised for our iniquities..."
"And With His Stripes" is excellent -- good tempo, not too fast, very expressive tonal quality.
Great job!

Sounds like a capable group. The recording is not good though.
