This interview took place before Slash found out that the 'Appetite for Destruction' amplifer was actually a 1959 Marshall Superlead that was Modified. It was S.I.R.'s #36. He stated in more recent interviews that he was wrong, he thought it was a JCM800. #36 was a mystery amp, because it had been modified a few times, nobody knew what was really in it, and since it is now M.I.A. somewhere. They had to start from scratch. The AFD100 is both "AFD" tone and S.I.R. #34 (Modded JCM 800)combined.

@bytebull new amps are great too.. if you stop being a marshall tube snob, you can go to a shop and try bogners, dr. z's, badcats, cornford.. but i can agree, it's hard to replace a good jcm 800 or a silver jubilee.
