  • Her controlled sounds here like an organ shows what a fabulous technique she has. Clarity no matter how she pedals. Full of idea. she is a thinking Bach player. i will get this vid with several other pianists. GAVRILOV !

  • who cares if she reads to the sheet, THIS MUSIC IS DIVINE.

  • mmm....3/5

  • my only gripe is that the trill is quite uneven. other than that small detail (not a big deal), absolutely GORGEOUS. :)

  • @alejandrothefader the word you are looking for is "anticlimactic" - this would cause no confusion about the climate.

  • @waltoncats i meant that many times his playing was anticlimatic... do you know what anticlimatic means? no, it doesn't mean he didn't believe in the weather! lol you could agree that his playing wasn't anticlimatic though!

about pirsig, yeah, i have... are you going to turn this into a philosofical converstation? XD i mean, you don't like the way this lady plays, ok, im fine with it and im sure she would too, but her play could not be deemed by a subjective opinion like yours good or bad!

  • @alejandrothefader 'anticlimatic'? You mean that Gould doesn't believe in the weather?

There is no single right or wrong way to play a piece. But there are good and bad ways. Ever read Pirsig?

  • @waltoncats ok, lets get this clear... goulda's playing is not how it should be played neither! he is as anticlimatic and special as this lady here! i can see why you like him, but that doesn't mean this great interpretation is horrible or anything like that!

  • @alejandrothefader Doh, Gould is best of course. Or anyone who can play in time and without using all that bloody pedal.

  • is that reverb or is that pedal? i cant tell :( my teacher forbade me to use pedal but my fingers are not clean enough to get a nice smooth legato in the trills

  • @waltoncats yeah it's disgusting! no im just kiding, i disagree, i would say you have no taste! what interpretation would you like then?

  • @waltoncats - fugue too. This classy lady is making Bach sexy, and there's not a lot of people you can say that about - or to. If you watch her lips later on in the piece she is saying something but I can't quite make it out. Any lip readers out there want to lend a hand here and tell us? I'm sure she is saying something about ending on a Tierce de Picardie, you know, like "Gotta make that Tierce de Picardie at the end" or "Don't forget to bang in that major, Joanna!" Pure class anyway. D *L*
