Kenya is periodically exposed to droughts and floods. Nearly 3.5m Kenyans needed food aid after poor rains in 2006. Losses of livestock of up to 70% were reported in arid and semi-arid lands. The maximum temperature in Kenya's Rift Valley Province has increased by almost 4 degrees Celsius in the last 20 years.
DFID is working with other development partners, to support he Government of Kenya and local communities to help the country to prepare for and deal with the effects of climate change, and pursue a low carbon development path.
In this film ordinary people tell the stories of their lives - and we look at how DFID is helping them cope with the changing climate.
