Reformation Sunday

By the end of the seventeenth century, many Lutheran churches celebrated a festival commemorating Martin Luther's posting of the Ninety-five Theses,

a summary of abuses in the church of his time. At the heart of the reform movement was the gospel, the good news that it is by grace through faith

that we are justified and set free.

  • Is your organ broke?

  • No, This is taken from our contemporary service. The Organ was in full use during the earlier Traditional Service.

  • Gross! Worship and entertainment are two different things with two different intended audiences. This is incompatible with the Lutheran concept of worship. It is the junk food version of Liturgy. It will not transcend centuries. It will die with the mullet and the electric keyboard. Puke. This does not draw newcomers; it repels them. It's cheesy. Lutheran liturgy is beautiful, mysterious and dignified. This is silliness. The altar is not a prop on the "stage."

  • Why is all these 'Lutheran' contemporary services the same. A guy who can't play guitat a keyboardist, most likely the choir director. A few singers who cant sing. This muck either way you cut it

  • sedd, you ar a protestant church, not a contemporan church, you mast yous the reform worship not the contemporary worship, com back thu the reformation.
