@jdm1jzmk3 yea ive read up more about 1.5's since then and it seemed the common starting ground was in japan/austraila because they originally came with a 1jz and if they had issues or just wanted added displacement they did a ge block swap since its not that complicated to perform.
-
@XtremlYDementeD actually people really started to do 1.5jz for the reason of blowing there bottom end and wanting to retain there curtain set ups and ge blocks were cheaper than getting an 1jz block and or changing there set up to 2jzgte. theres nothing wrong with a 1jz head. it can flow to make 1100+ hp, the biggest restriction is the intake manifold as boostage on supraforums has stated
-
@rs200000000000 the 1jz head doesnt flow better then either 2jz head also some people do this because sc300 comes stock with 2jzge..buy a cheap 1jzge swap for ~800-1000 bucks then use the 2jzge bottom end to raise comp and to put it at a 3l instead of 2.5..also 1jz's are easier/cheaper to put in sc300's vs 2jzgte..just some reason behind why this swap may of been done.

hardly seems worth using a 2jz bottom end for only 500hp may as well have a 2jz head as well there are way more option for it, although some people say the 1jz flows better

The 1jz head exhaust port are bigger than the 2jz which give it better exhauist pressure meaning that you can make mmore power on less boost!
