How to play American folk song Shortnin' Bread Bread on the 10 hole diatonic harmonica.
Dear subscribers,
I started making videos for my harmonic classes.
I had to load them to youtub to put them on my website.
When I got subscribers from youtub I felt like making more.
I see there is a of information on youtub maybe to much.
This music I show you hear is my Heritage.
If you want me to do more like this please tell me.
Thank you

  • Sorry It took so long to get back to you Amy.

If the arrow is pointing at you,you draw in the harmonica if it is pointing away from you you blow out. If you playing the normal 10 hole diatonic harmonica there should be numbers from 1-10 this makes it easier to explain what note to play.

  • Hey , hope you feeling better. I sure enjoy your playing the harmonica as do other folks.....Keep up the great music. Thanks a million for sharing. Again, thank you.

  • Hi, yes I'm much better now.

Thank you for your nice comments.

  • Your very welcome.

  • You are doing a great job. I also appreciate the other guys giving instructional videos, but yours have a different feel. You obviously grew up with this. It seems that the most of the other videos are aimed at impressing us with their technical prowess. But yours comes from the heart and soul.

On your web site, it would be great if you would diagram "Big Walkers Boogie." I really like it, but am having trouble figuring it out.

  • Soon Im back now.

  • Man oh man. I like the way you explain the techniques... You can remove the technical confusing instructions of the mechanics and illustrate exactly what you are doing to make that harp sing. The ability to show beginers easy and fun ways to reproduce these licks is key, well for me... so that practice sounds like "something" ... practicing this lesson gets my blood pumpin and lets some of my boogie woogie out :) Great Job...

Very cool... like the other side of the pillow....

  • does the down arrow mean blow out? does the up arrow mean breathe in? do the numbers mean how many notes? thanks

  • I really like your teaching, its very clear and helps me out a lot. I hope to see more videos

You have an amazing style and feeling for playing the harmonica.

  • Update. JUST Got a couple harmonicas and working on the tunes.. When drawing 1,2,3,4 and practicing the Tee Daa (blow and draw) part the tone bent down and sounded flat. For a second I thought I broke my harp's reed. hahaha I guess that is bending notes or i could be wrong? It's fun trying to see what effects on notes ya get by changing your hands, jaw, lip, and pronouncing with changes in air flow. Thanks man for sharing and inspiring others. YOU help made this a fav tune.

  • Feeling it. You make people want to get up and sing, clap and join in. Make it look like alot of fun think I will have to get a harmonica LOL GREAT JOB!!!
