This LP kind of some kind of definite apex - if that's not a contradiction in terms - of The Fall's career to date. At any rate, pretty much untopped by most anything else strange released during that stranger than strange decade.

@halfcabdisaster7 I agree on that, even Black Francis have sometimes remembered me David Thomas, in some parts of his singing.

@freudastaire This is mostly unrelated but I think Pere Ubu was an influence on the Pixies too. I just have no one else to share that insight with.

@halfcabdisaster7 of course they were. Pixies were great and Black Francis loved great music. And both, Fall and Pixies loved The Stooges. Who doesn't?

You can totally see the rest of the group hanging out, drinking lager and jamming on the Stooges out of boredom and suddenly MES grabs the mike and starts spitting some sinister genius rant about the untrustworthy elves and a new classic is born....
