Multimedia photo presentation of the International Airshow held a few months ago at Leeuwarden Air Force Base, The Netherlands.

These were the first photos taken my newly acquired Nikon D50 digital camera + Sigma 50-500mm HSM lens. All were taken handheld and the majority at focal length 320mm.

  • I never said he did a bad job, I only asked if he could have shot closer at the longest focal length. He did a good job but I thought my suggestion/question would help improve his work.

W/ the iso at 400 or even 600 he would easily gotten well above 1/1000 or more in shutter speed and could have easily panned and frozen a frame or more. He could easily handle the noise in post w/ NN or Noiseware or even PS Elements.

  • Wow! I apologize for my remarks, they were not meant to offend and I fail to see how I slammed this person's work.

None the less for all concerned I apologize if my questions upset you.

    Peace.

  • Fantastic shooting. I have this lens. I know difficult it is to hold and to shoot on max zoom. well done! ignore the critics who probably only have little compacts,..

  • I do agree that more close ups would have been nice, but we can all criticize, but in the final analysis, go and try to shoot this air show, and you'll find that this chap did a darn good job!.. and, I'm sure if I had shot it, mine would have not been as good as his!.. this was definately a real hard shoot!.. Christ....try to frame the freakin' shot when a jets flying over 500 mph!.. go try it, and you'll appreciate this here video!...

  • wtf , maby he like it this way, dammd

  • Was there a reason you didn't want to shoot closer? Did the plans not show in the frame @ the full 500mm or was it impossible to hand hold shoot @ 500mm.

I understand if you wanted to keep the exhuast smoke in the frame but a few close ups of the plans in action and fine details would have been great don't you think..?

All things considered the presentation, music, and live air talk effects were great, and I also understand that being youtube a lot of the plan details may not be so apparent.
