  • Boondocking is a term used among users of recreation vehicles (RVs) meaning camping without the electrical, water, and waste connections found in campgrounds using the RV's built in systems. It usually implies camping outside campgrounds, in non-designated campsites, away from amenities, such as in the forest or on the open desert. This is referred to by agencies that manage public lands (National forests and land managed by the Bureau of Land Management [BLM]) as "dispersed camping."
