the audio track of -a love supreme/psalms- comes from amsterdam based production company -kindred spirits-. they will host a celebration of john coltrane on september 25th in amsterdam at a place called -the paradiso-. they have asked me to put together a -direct mpac- for the ocassion so i am sort of thinking out loud and musing about some things we may do that evening...come hang out should you be in the region...there will be some interesting surprises...

the poet is one of my closest friends from los angeles. his name is kamau daaoud...i met him during performances with horace tapscott many years ago and i am honored to say we continue a creative association into the light of this new day. the poem, -yellow moon-, is mine, excepted from a cd we did recently together along with st. louis based poet and cultural anthropologist curtis lyle and the very imaginative literary configurist will alexander...i look forward to the time when we can all man the same performance space for what i envision as -the phonetic engineers-...the cd is an effort in that direction...it's entitled -a gift from trane-. it was produced by some very forward thinking people there at tahoe records in navada. really look forward to the time when the business people will look away from profit for a moment and assist us with bringing you all a very ascending experience with us....we envision it first in our minds eye yes....

so much with which we can heal and focus during this transitional period of the collective condition eroding a moment in earth time eternal....from out of the ashes arises the pheniox in each age.

tribes of ancient/modern mali,

john coltrane is a once in a life time experience. i am certainly a more conscious and centered being as a result of his experience in my life time...i give humble praise and thanks.

This video is such a beautiful honoring of John Coltranes's famous "Psalm", from his "A Love Supreme" album.  The female vocalist sang the words with such sweetness, & the organ was very emotional & powerful. And the visual art movement is very celestial. It's a wonderful prayer to wake up to in the morning, or to sing with or meditate with before going to sleep. And i love the way it goes into the voice of John Coltrane quoting from the Bhagavad Gita from "OM"...
