the trailer does not capture the film. the film is "ok" but does not capture the book at all, luckily i only paid £5 for it on ebay, but its good of you're reading the book and have trouble understanding it
I agree with Cadbird. I would love to see the book made into a film properly, but this looks ridiculous. I may have to rent it just so I can get annoyed with it.
I've never seen the film, but judging by the trailer (which is, I admit, not always reliable) it doesn't capture the surreal and introspective mood of the book - and if "Playboy called it a 'psychosexual movie shocker'", I think either Playboy or the film has got the wrong end of the stick entirely.
The book is way better than the movie. Atwood is really ahead in her discription of the the Christian Right/Dominionist rise.
