Salaam Alaykum,

That is a very good question brother, may Allah bless you for it. The reason for this is very simple ... it is the same reason why we say Ali Wali Ullah in the adhan, even though all sects agree it is not in the original adhan ... the reason it came into the adhan was due to the fact people cursed Imam Ali (AS) & ignored his rights ... as a consequence to counter the injustice, it naturally got added to the adhan ... in the same light, attention is given to the oppressed here.

Just a note ... you should see the huge fantastic celebrations in Shia countries for the great birth of the best of all prophets, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and you should definitely listen to all the songs we have sang for the Prophet (SAW) ... it is not that obvious for some one looking at us from the outside, the gist of us loving the Family of the Prophet (SAW) is because of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) himself ... personal question ... will I know you better through your companions or your Family?

First of all, I love my great religion ISLAM.

And secondly, I love imam ali. I have a different feeling when it comes to him. I love everything about Islam ... God what should I do? you do not know, I feel that Islam is much more than what is being described! Islam is really something different.
