When this was filmed the war in Europe and the Pacific were raging with three more years to go. The shot of Brookfield Zoo shows Kodiak Bear cubs on loan from the British zoo for the duration of the war. Morton Arboretum-a mere shadow of what it is today. I remember pinafores and banana curls.....and looks like Mom made the kids matching outfits. This was a time of sacrifice and spirit; nowdays it appears we just get pissed when times get rough.
