"Cracker" is a term we native Floridians use and have for many years. It comes from the cracking of the whip of the cracker cowboys who homesteaded after the Spanish left so many horses that had gone wild. Look it up, folks. It is not by any means a derogatory word in the usage of an ethnicity or group of people descended from Fla's settlers.
