my problem is i tend to slide very inaccurately, always over or under shooting the correct note/power chord. do you have any tips?

It's another accuracy issue. If you take it slowly and work on stopping at the correct position it'll work on the accuracy and gauging the correct distance. The gradually build up the speed. You could also create a little exercise for yourself sliding a power chord from 1st fret to 2nd then 1st to 3rd, 1st to 4th etc. Of course playing the riff itself it a great way of working on it too :). Dude.. That is one hell of a tricky start, where your E string is surposed to be bended OFF neck.. My Ibanez ain´t that funky cool steve vai version like yours with all the cool drives, vribs and other cool senttings....!
If i´m right it is a steve vai ibanez, right? ^^

In this video it's an Ibanez RGA model instead of a Steve Vai JEM model :)
