THE REAL MCCOYS WAS A SITUATION COMEDY WHICH AIRED ON ABC FROM 1957 TO 1962. IT AIRED FOR ONE MORE SEASON ON CBS BEFORE ITS END IN 1963. THE SHOW STARRED WALTER BRENNAN AS GRANDPA AMOS MCCOY,RICHARD CRENA AS HIS GRANDSON LUKE,KATHLEEN NOLAN AS KATE LUKES NEW BRIDE,LYDIA REED AS HASSIE THE TEENAGE SISTER,MICHAEL WINKELMAN AS LUKE THE 11 OLD LITTLE BROTHER AND ALSO STARRING TONY MARTINEZ AS PEPINO WHO WORKED FOR THEM AND THEN BECAME PART OF THE FAMILY.THE REAL MCCOYS HAD 6 SEASONS AND A TOTAL OF 224 EPISODES.THIS IS THE INTRO FOR THE SHOW. I HOPE EVERYONE ENJOYS THIS.

I remember her coming back in an episode where she was in obvious discomfort and was probably not seen for even a full minute.I don't recall what it was she was supposed to have died of.This is the first I've heard of any contract dispute.

ok did it tell why Kate died, all I could find out was she left because of a contract dispute.

Actually on the show she was written off as having died and also Cassie and Little Luke left.It was a risk having her 'die' as to how the audience would respond but it worked prior with The Danny Thomas Show and it seemed to work out for The McCoys.
