In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

  • He is an amazing guy, he has accomplished amazing things, and his speech was excellent!

  • @TalladegaTom I think u need a Power Point presentation. A lapel mic helps, too, as does alphabet soup from a University after your name. However, they Will accept precocious youth, so long as they are ASPIRING to the above. Saw a horrible talk on the MAIN TED channel that inferred "intelligent design" aka "creationism" and spoke of 24 hr pregnancies as "babies!" REALLY PISSED ME OFF. dunno. just dunno

  • @rriverstone1 - Hee hee... Nah, you posted the comment which appeared in my subscriber thingy so I "stalked" on over to see what the fuss was about.

I also agree with your integrity statement above. I suppose if I did a talk discussing the "truth" of the flat Earth idea, I could upload it to "Technology, Entertainment, and Design"? I guess if it's entertaining enough? Weird.

I wonder what IS the criteria for TED?

  • @TalladegaTom ..Hey, Tom! U stalking me? LOL Another thing: I don't know who PinnyW is and there's no description. This isn't a private video channel. It's TEDx Talks. These sloppy upload techniques bring into question the integrity of this channel. Tighten up your ethics, TEDx!

  • @rriverstone1 - I agree. This was extraordinarily stupid.

Folks could easily find a better use for those 10 minutes.

  • there are no muscles in the brain. this is bull crap
