Guys..it's a DRILL. It's to teach the body to access the hip flexors. The faster you move the less it happens, but the hip flexors still need to fire. The drill is aimed at 'teaching' the bowler it's ok to activate that part of the body. The first knee lift would lead to 'hang time' and the final knee lift should happen after the ball has gone to ensure active legs out of the crease.
It's a drill... please understand this. It's NOT the way you bowl. It is the way you TEACH yourself to use hips
@MavericksCricket fair enough.....but dont you think the high knee before the delivery is an extra consumption of energy? am not sure how practical it is or if many international bowler do it just before they bowl...plus when you running so fast and you want everything to go forward quick, surely the front knee so high would delay the bowler going forward quick enough as a result affect his pace, rythm? it dont seem economical n efficient either way...
the drill do not match up.....he demonstrated high knees on walk through and jog through....but it doesnt work when he did the proper bowling......one word....it is useless and impractical....
Ian can you make a spinner or 65/70 mph bowler into a 90mph bowler,If the person willing to do,anything and everything required to do???How long long would it take, approxemately??remember Imran khan become a fast bowler from a millitary medium bowler.
@multirahul85 just review Brett Lee's action.. he has the three knees.. you need say no more
