  • invest in a chef knife. life would be easier.

  • @yourdowg Your correct I should get a chef knife - But I was trying to show the viewers how to prepare the rutabaga as safely as possible, because I know most people do not have a chef's knife available or it needs sharpening. Thank you for your comment.

  • omg thank you so much. I didn't even know where to begin but now I know. Thanks again. You are the"Rutabaga Guru!"

  • @amk949fam Thank you for the Title! I am just so thrilled that you are willing to try this important, healthy, and inexpensive vegetable.

  • thankyou for taking time to share this fact,I really hated peeling them and yes,it is dangerous but not anymore!

  • @Wildwoodfl Oh, I am so glad it helped! Peeling them was the most dangerous part. But I'm glad you do it in the microwave first--no reason not to eat them now. Thank you.

  • the greeting on my grandma's phone says," Leave a message you big fat rutabaga." XD!!!

  • You rock, Anita! Thanks!

  • thanks for making this video. you're a nice lady. I'm making myself a rutabaga tonight ;)

  • youre so cute!

  • Thanks for sharing this video!! I just bought some rutabagas for 2 different recipes and I have never cooked them before!! So this video was quite helpful and very informative as well. Thanks. :-)

  • Thanks for the tip! However, I was able to peel mine easily with a vegetable peeler, even raw.

  • Cant believe how you just tortured that in the microwave. Buy the big ones, cut it into 1cm slices straight through. And dont just remove the outer skin, peel another 5 mm's into it because the outer meat of it is really not edible. Cut the slices into squares - best snack ever

  • Thank you for sharing about these great vegetables! I only started eating them recently, and have found them to be quite versatile as well as healthy. I will try the microwave to make them easier to peel the next time I make them, I've been using a flat cheese slicer but it is still rather hard to do - appreciate that tip! Will go look at more of your videos now, glad I "found" you :).

  • I love your vids! Thank you!

  • - It's not a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner - if you don't have Rutabaga on the table ;)
