http://www.deansafe.com/ SecuRam system safe locks are one of the new generation of High Security digital electronic Safe Locks often installed on gun safes. we show you how to open the original combination and how to change the combo & battery.
Hi my name is Bo Peterson with Dean Safe company. Today I am going to show you how to use the SecuRam electronic lock, that now comes on the Patriot series
from Cannon Safe Company.
I am going to show you how to open the safe, using the electronic lock, how to change the battery, and how to change the combination.
his lock is very easy to use. It is set to 1-2-3-4-5-6 right now. I'll show you how to do that. You simply press 1-2-3-4-5-6, wait a second, and turn the handle. Now I am going to show you how to change the combination on the SecuRam electronic lock.
If you remember nothing else from this video, you always want to change your combination with the door open and the bolts extended. Bolts are out, door open.
Let me show you how to change the combination on the SecuRam electronic lock. You simply put in six zeros (0-0-0-0-0-0), the existing six digit combination, which is 1-2-3-4-5-6, and a new six digit combination twice. We are going to use 6-5-4-3-2-1, that's one time, re-enter it the second time, 6-5-4-3-2-1.
That combination is now set.
The reason why we always do it with the door open and the bolts out is because we can test it now. You always want to test it, 6-5-4-3-2-1, and you turn the handle. If the bolts go in, you have done it properly.
Now I want to show you how to change the nine volt battery, on your SecuRam electronic lock. You simply grab the bottom of the lock, not pulling it out, but pushing it straight up, you will hear a click and you simply turn it over and the
nine volt battery is right behind there. When you replace the nine volt battery,
you will not lose your combination, your existing combination, it is simply just changing the battery.
To re-install the keypad, you simply repeat the process. Put it back on, and push down, it is locked into place.
You now see why Cannon Safe Company only puts electronic locks on their safes. They are so simple to use, you can change your own combination, replace the batteries, all without needing a locksmith to come out.
It gives you the security, to set your own combination.
Thank you for this opportunity.
My Cannon Patriot with a Securam lock is extremely hard to change the battery. In this video, the keypad pulls 2 or more inches away from the safe once you lift it up; I can barely fit my finger between the keypad and the safe. I called Cannon's customer support and the technician told me it is supposed to be this way (even though it's not like this in the video). I was able to change out the battery using a slim screwdriver, but I'm worried the wire is going to eventually disconnect.

will this work on all gun safes
tyaquatics 7 months ago
@tyaquatics If your asking will this lock work on all safes? No, but it will work with 95% of all safe with a Std. U.L. type lock mount plate.
If your asking if the instructions given in this video work on all electronic locks, no only on the SecuRam Locks.
thanks for asking,
John
