I really wish the coast guard still did the ice breaking in the channel. There's no free rides for workers at McMurdo anymore now that the Coast Guard is out of the picture.

i work at mcmurdo station in antarctica, where i am a lieutenant in the fire department. that was a u.s. coast guard icebreaker that was in the area opening a shipping channel for the resupply of mcmurdo station.
