Saturday 5 July 2008 - To fly at least 100 metres off Sunny Worthing pier in England off the south coast to be in with a chance of scooping the £30,000 jackpot. See www.worthingbirdman.co.uk to register for the annual event.
Really pleased to see such good footage because it showed I was pulling out of the dive before I hit the water. This means my controls work! The XX!! stanchions on the platform left me with no runup and no airspeed on launch. Oh well........
Terrific footage. I live 2 miles away but arrived late cos of the traffic jams, then got freaked out by the crowds so went for something to eat instead at Wrights cafe (formally Muldoons). Great tea and gluten free cakes :-)
Great to see all the action of an hour in 5 minutes. You must have had a special photo pass because the public weren't allowed on the pier so never got as good a view as you did. Pity Sunday's jump was cancelled - so lookin' forward to seeing Fred Flintstone etc jump!
strange how they crash whenever the commentator says "keep going!"
...very strange...
