SeaWorld debuted its new killer whale Shamu show "One Ocean" on Earth Day, April 22, 2011. In attendance at the grand opening were special guests animal expert Jack Hanna and singer Spencer Lee, who performed the show's signature number, "One Song" for its finale. This video features highlights including plenty of jumps and splashes from Tilikum and the other killer whales along with fun interactions with SeaWorld's trainers.

  • This show was nothing more than display of hypocrisy.

  • @billymparker Marine parks have shown no more interest in conserving marine mammals' natural habitats than they have in educating audiences. In fact,

the industry has actively lobbied to keep small cetaceans, such as orcas and dolphins, outside the jurisdiction of the International Whaling

Commission (even though this would help protect these animals in the wild) because they don't want to risk not being able to capture

additional animals in the future. -WAF

  • @mariahcantara most of those orcas were BORN in captivity and they think it's normal

  • poor animals, captives and slaves......

  • amazing video :)

  • @Shamu21nasa Honestly, it's not a problem, hun. :)

  • @dolphinserenity Oh good! I was just responding to someone else who was acting really ignorant and it totally came off like I'm a smartass. Yes, thank God it's Friday for sure! Same here, message me anytime. I really am sorry for my poor response.

  • @Shamu21nasa It's okay, you didn't lower my opinion or anything. I just try to take comments at face value so that's what I replied to. My apologies if I came off as impolite. Sorry to hear that you're having a terrible week, thank God it's Friday, right? ;) If you ever want a friendly debate on this topic, just shoot me a pm.

  • @dolphinserenity I'm sorry. No, I actually really am sorry. I am usually much better at this then I was with you. I didn't feel your first comment was very nice, and I've been having the week from Hell and I guess I've just been taking it out on people I've never met.

So I'm sorry, I wasn't mature, you're right. I hope I don't lower your opinion of people who support SeaWorld because they aren't all as quick to explode as me.

  • @Shamu21nasa Maybe you should elaborate more when you are discussing this issue. And possibly consider posting respectful, mature comments. Your rhetorical zingers make it nearly impossible to take you seriously.
