@SoccerTingz note your dreams in a journal and 'reality checks' such as poking your palm. There are many and explanations if you google the term with lucid dream.

When I fall asleep I almost always know I'm dreaming, but I can't control the dream, can't wake up either. I never taught myself to know it's a dream, it was just natural. Can I turn those dreams into actual lucid dreams I can control?

"Direct your behavior or the course of events." First it would involve both of those things. Second, if you realize you're in a dream, and your not inclined to say, "this is a dream" and take action, then I'd leave it at that. Your welcomed to try. Dreamviews has an excellent teaching forum.

Everybody dreams, but it depends on which stage of the sleep cycle you wake up in as to whether you will remember your dream or not. I'm not entirely sure why, but i think it is something to do with dreams generally being stored in the short term memory. so if you wake up a while after you dream then it is unlikely you will remember it. We all dream about 3 or 4 times a night in 90 minute cycles. So the dreams that you do remember are normally those that were closest to you waking up.
