Two and a half hours careful conservation in under two minutes! A 16th century tapestry belonging to Henry VIII is being washed in one of the worlds largest tapestry baths, measuring approximately 9 metres x 5 metres. Using de-ionised (softened) water and our own mix of detergent the tapestry is washed over a period of 4 hours by our textile conservation specialists, and over seen by our conservation scientists. The tapestry is left in place with fans and will be dry within 24 hours.

  • I would think something like that would have a tag, "Dry clean only"

  • @toadabc I think it's an agitator. Like in a washing machine, but gentler.

  • What the heck is the thing that keeps going back and forth?

  • Ah, I'd like one of those gizmos for my apartment. Does it have a vacuum attachment?

  • God how I would LOVE to do that job! I'd be too scared to touch something so valuable though!
