@9753241860hb as well I don't see much of a330 of air canada either! I remember when I was little I sat on Air Canada but it was star alliance plane!

@DragonGodOFAndy The 747 were very old they had to retire them anyways and the A340 were replaced by the 777 which instead of 4 engines it has 2 and its much more efficient, they want to make money, they wont keep a plane just because of looks
-
so stupid that Air Canada took away the A340 and the 747

i came to same airport with same plane from frankfurt in sep 2005. it was my second time and i was really scared specially when in the middle of the way it had a very sudden strong shake that almost gave a heart attack. so i like airliners with two engines more because the on that took me from toronto to vancouver shook a lot lesser.

i still wonder why they got rid of teh a340-500's i mean its not like they were flying an old A300 or something

The A340s were great. Very efficient...just that the new 777s are even more efficient. They knew they're going to be using the new 777s in the long run so they might as well get rid of the a340s to reduce the # of aircraft types in their fleet. Instead of having 2 A340-500s and a few A340-300s, they chose to operate a bunch of new 777s. This not only makes crew training, maintenance, etc much easier, but also keeps costs low. Also keep in mind that A340s use 4 engines while the 777s use 2.
