A tribute to the great Edward Hardwicke, the most sensitive and the most fatherly Watson of the world ^^
** I admired always enormously John H. Watson, that we often represented as somebody trustworthy but stupid and narrow-minded. Thanks to the Granada to have rehabilitated him!!! **
Soon, a small tribute to David Burke, an other great actor!

My favorite! Just as Jeremy is the ideal SH, Edward is the ideal JW indeed. They created a legend that is both never before and never after!

It must have been horrible for Edward Hardwicke to deal with Jeremy's death! Poor chap, his best friend...After they have acted together for so long ,side by side...

Edward Hardwicke makes an adorable Watson at the side of the magnificent Holmes from Jeremy Brett. There Holmes/Watson-couple is so much better, because the friendship between Watson and Holmes realy existed between Edward and Jeremy

I know that I'm alone in this. But I always felt that Edward Hardwicke made the part of Watson somewhat sexy.

Why do you think you're alone??? :D in my opinion, Edward Hardwicke (and perhaps D. Burke) has rehabilitated Watson in the eyes of ladies!!

Amen to that! After all Watson did have "an experience of women which extends over many nations and three separate continents". [The Sign of the Four]
It was great to see Mr. Hardwicke (& Mr. Burke) transform the Good Doctor from a duffer back into the Watson of Doyle's Canon.

I completely agree!!! I can even add, as Holmes said once, that "the fair sex is the department" of our good doctor ^^. [The Second Stain]. How someone can think he's only a dumb, narrow-minded fat guy is beyond me!
