Mandarin Park - Florida Plein Air Painting - Gary Garrett

This is a short documentary plus a time lapse of my work at the Florida First Coast Plein Air Painter's paint out on Sunday, January 27, 2007 at Mandarin Park (20 miles south of Jacksonville). Painters attending where Randy (oils), Pat (oils), David (oils), Nikki (oils), Richard (pastels) and myself (Gary - acrylics). Beautiful day, lots of nice people, some noisy and lovable geese, and other beautiful water birds. a WONDERFUL place to paint, especially on such a nice day as this. After seeing the video, sorry I stood between the time-lapse camera and the painting so much, and shooting into the sun was a mistake! Also, my intention was to show more of the other painters at work and their finished pieces.... will try to do better at that at our next "paintout".

Time lapse portion using my Sony TRV-25 on interval mode (1/2 second every 30 seconds).

I had to re-upload this one to try to improve the video quality which was really bad at first. I think it's better now... thanks to all thse who commented and rated the previous version, whose comments i had had to sacrifice to try for a better finished product

Thank you.... it's more fun to have folks out there painting who feel excited about painting. This was my first plein air experience where I was looking into a noon sun, so the painting was in shadow... more difficult for me personally, but that was the view I had.
