Chapter 17b - Energy Budgeting (1 of 2): Petroleum has supplied the surplus energy that has allowed for social complexity, industrialization, and the modern conveniences that we enjoy. In this chapter, Dr. Chris Martenson explains that in the future our supply of surplus energy will decline due to the fact that increasing amounts of energy will be required to produce new energy. When poor net energy (ERoEI) returns are paired with peak oil production, it points to a return to a less complex society.

52% Than you have a really GOOD income!

Over 2010 I made € 45.000 and was not in the 52% tax ... over a part I paid 42% also high but we know that money goes to other people (part of the money) roads, education and so on ..

But if I look at what I have ... yes we have a footprint which is too large!

Americans even have (or had ... ?) a even bigger footprint ...

We need to take step back ... bigtime .....

  • I'm in the Netherlands paying 52% of my income to taxes and living is simple life is something I do everyday. So I can relate to @3:50 big time. I feel that living this budgeted life is made me realize how stupidly wasteful I was when growing up in the US.

  • @grahjnn please do the world a favor and google "scientific theory" read up on it... im not being a dick im trying to help you

  • @TheAttackRat You are aware that Special Relativity, and Quantum Mechanics both violate the Law's of Thermodynamics, right? Also, the Big Bang is a theoretical model. It's just as plausible as the Dark Star model.

  • @TheAttackRat Are you saying the big bang isn't still a "theory"?

  • @lutherarao heard of the laws thermodynamics? there is not free energy, except that which was created at the big bang. go away with your conspiracy thoeries.

  • Belive it or not Free energy is real,But the Big corporations spend millions to ensure that information does not spread to the masses,Find the real deal, a free energy device at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,The revolution begins!

  • @elboertjie They are watching Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and how to put on freaky make-up.

  • @10speech110 If you wish upon a star, all your dreams will come true. The United States consumes 1 Billion barrels of oil EVERY 50 days. IF, and that's a big if, we can crack the code for cellulosic, we might have a chance. But that will take 20 years. We might not have that long. Not to mention the EROEI is weak even for cellulosic.

  • According to this video statistics from Youtube, this video is most popular by males. What are the females watching then?
