Choreographers Comment:
WAYWARD GLANCES is about our longing for and fear of intimacy. So many times in life, we fail to achieve a real intimate relationship because we fear the loss of control. In TETHERED, Blythe stands on, suspends from, and blathers to Matt always trying to maintain that control. Matt becomes a door mat (no pun intended), both literally and figuratively. Though, at the end, he silences her with one simple gesture. As we constructed this piece, I affectionately nicknamed this section Blatt (Blythe + Matt).
