Say what you want about Eddie, but how many concerts have you been to where someone plays a 5 minute guitar solo, and people cheer.... closest I've been was a Neil Peart drum solo. It might be a little old and a little tired but he is fuckin' awesome, and inspired everyone that is considered great today...

eddie van halen could get onstage and hit the fretboard with his dick and people would cheer and call it great. sure he used to be great, but now, get past the name, and he's just another guy playing 30 year old licks.

this is no where near the best just look up anything paul gilbert or Michael Angelo then youll be more like to say "this is the best"

He rocks but it aint the best ever! do a search for Michael Angelo Batio double neck solo. That is the most amazing thing I have ever seen!

He is staying in the safe zone rather than going for new stuff, hopefully out of all this playing they'll get their creative juices flowing & bring us something new. He should mix in Source of Infection in there, some of his best tapping.

Eddie's great but this is FAR from best ever. I would say this is typical mid concert stuff and so classically influenced it doesn't even stand as original. Although it IS a tremendous arrangement, Eddie himself probably can't stand it anymore and clearly just plays it to appease/impress the masses.

Hey, I was very impressed getting a chance to see them, so for me, this kind of blew my mind. I was like 7 when they split up.
