An update on my solar powered aquaponics system. Fish are surviving off of azolla and ocassionally pellets. Garlic chives, strawberry and tomato plants are doing well. Arduino running off of the charged battery has been running reliably for over a year now.
Hmm perhaps an solar powered black light led over the fish that would attract more bugs for food for the fish. I run my system off solar with a bubbler. Bubbler runs 24/ 7 but the pumps only 12 hours a day. Worms love growing in the grow beds.

Thanks for responding. I'm trying to do something similar with the Arduino UNO and a pump. Do you have a Real Time Clock? Or use the function Delay? I would like to see your code. You can send me an email with the code? My great difficulty is that my RTC uses I2C interface. farmsid@pop.com.br

Congratulations. I have been following your project and I think fantastic. I'm doing a similar. You used the Arduino to control only the pump or is there another application? You used the Arduino to control solar energy? Current or voltage? Transferring information to someone? It seems that the system was installed in a remote place. Finally, could you show me your Arduino code?

Looks great, you must live in the southern hemisphere huh? I've been anticipating your updates for a while, You think youll get that other PVC tube part hooked up this summer? I think the lettuce might grow like that in a mirror to how their roots grow, if you give them a floating bed they might bush out more because the roots wont have to travel as deep like in the gravel. Great stuff Boohaus!
