This is an unofficial amateur made video for the track "Shabda" from Mike Oldfield's recently released album "Music Of The Spheres".

The video is made just for fun and maybe it works as unofficial promotion. Anyway my idea is not to cause financial loss to copyright owners and I would be more concerned about P2P networks than YouTube anyway.

If you like what you hear, buy the album. :)

  • Do I hear some Karl Jenkins influence in this track? I think so.

  • No wonder if you do. Oldfield does not have the training / knowledge to write for a symphony orchestra and therefore worked with Jenkins on the orchestration.

  • @clothearednincompoop just wondering, how did he go about writing his first album which seemed to me in a symphonic format?

  • @Synrikeman Well I guess it's not exactly in symphonic format, but of course a bit like "classical music with rock instruments" if you like.

I know that Oldfield listened to classical music in his youth so there certainly is a classical influence. I believe he had many of the musical ideas of Tubular Bells already for many years until he then finally got the chance to actually record the whole album.

You can find some interviews at tubular dot net for example.

  • Silly me. You of course talked about "Music Of The Spheres". I just read "first album" and thought about "Tubular Bells".

I think music is the language of emotions.
