Pom pom "makers" are like cherry pitters, pastry cutters, or any other luxury appliance where the old-fashioned equivalent was just using your two hands! Wrap yarn around three to four of your fingers about 100 times; remove from fingers and, with a separate foot-long-or-so strand of yarn, tie at center several times. Cut the loopy ends and long strand, give each puff a little hair-cut above the trash can to get them an even size, then fluff vigorously.
